The Schwarz Evacuations Rockets are proud to announce that both Lucas Schmidt and Mitchell Kuhl have committed to the Rockhampton Rockets for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season. Both players will add great depth to the Rockets roster and are excited for the opportunity that lies ahead in 2022.
Coach Tweedy said of the signing of Kuhl, “Mitch is an up and coming junior fresh off an u18 National championship campaign. He is going to give us shot blocking, rebounding, and added length. We are really looking for him to step up out of the junior ranks into seniors which is a huge challenge for him, but we think he will be able to give us valuable minutes off the bench.”
Mitchell said of signing with the Rockets, “I feel like this is a great opportunity to learn and experience playing with, and against, some of the best NBL talent that the league has to offer. I’m really excited to be apart of the Rockets culture again and be coached by Neal and Richo in the 2022 season. This is a huge chance for me to provide myself, and under the guidance of these experienced coaches and players, I will make sure I take every opportunity to improve my game and be a great teammate.”
On
the signing of Lucas Schmidt Coach Tweedy said, “Another young guy really making his first step into the NBL1, Lucas has something that no one else can provide is which is size. It will be a steep learning curve, but we aim for him to anchor us in the middle. He ca rebound, block shots, and set great screens to get our shooters open.”
