The Schwarz Excavations Rockhampton Rockets have continued to build their 2023 roster with the signing of 6ft 10inch Centre Angus McWilliam.
McWilliam will join the Rockets for the 2023 NBL1 North season and played his college career at UC Riverside in the Best West conference in the USA.
Coach Tweedy said, “We are really happy about being able to secure Angus for the 2023 season. Angus will provide us a target inside the paint and also provide some toughness at the defensive end of the floor. He is a versatile big and is mobile for a player at 6ft 10 and has the ability to step out and hit the 3 also. We are really looking forward to his arrival.”
Angus said on signing, “I am extremely excited to be returning close to home and look forward to kicking off my rookie season with the Rockets. I can’t wait to play for Coach Tweedy and bring the NBL1 championship to Rockhampton!”
McWilliam will arrive in early March in preparation for the team’s opening round clash against the Mackay Meteors in Mackay on March 24.
