The Schwarz Excavation Rockhampton Rockets have solidified their roster for the Coles Express NBL1 North 2023 season with the signing of quality big man and fan favourite Damien Prgomet!
Prgomet returns after an impressive 2022 season where he averaged 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game! The fan favourite always brought intensity and physicality to the game, and we cannot wait to see him back in Bravus Arena. He joins the team this weekend after concluding his most recent season in Spain and will be a welcomed additional for the Sunshine Coast double header!
Coach Tweedy said, “Size is really important in this league and Damo is one of those players that brings that size and physicality to the team. He has played professionally for a few years now and will add experience as well as additional rebounding and defensive intensity to the group. He already has a relationship with the coaching staff and some of the players from last year which will help him find his feet with the group quickly."
Prgomet said of signing, “Super excited to be back in Rocky for the season. The people are so nice and friendly, and I have been welcomed back with open arms. I am excited to start games this weekend on the Sunshine Coast.”
The Rockets are on the road this weekend, with the NBL1 Game of the Week against Sunshine Coast Rip tonight and taking on Sunshine Coast Phoenix tomorrow.
