NBL1 North Coach Announcement

Rockhampton Basketball are thrilled to welcome back 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 as the head coach of the CQ University Cyclones for the 2025 NBL1 season.

Most recently, Chris had an impressive run as assistant coach and contributing to a championship victory in 2024, Chris is ready to lead the team back to greatness.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞’𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞:

“I’m incredibly excited to be appointed as head coach of the CQ University Cyclones for the upcoming 2025 NBL1 season. Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working as Drew Fenton’s assistant coach, where we made back-to-back grand finals and secured the championship in 2024. Drew’s leadership has been invaluable in helping me grow as a coach, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue building on the team’s legacy of success.

Previously, I had the honor of leading the Cyclones as head coach from 2014 to 2019, during which we achieved tremendous success, including three grand final appearances and back-to-back championships in 2015 and 2016. Returning to this role, I’m eager to bring my experience and passion to the team as we strive for continued success in the 2025 season. I’m looking forward to a great season ahead!”
