Heard adds vital piece to Cyclones roster.

The CQ University Rockhampton Cyclones add another vital piece to their roster for the Coles Express 2023 NBL1 North season with the signing of American combo guard Lauren Heard!

The TCU graduate brings a wealth of experience to the Cyclones roster after an impressive college career at the Division 1 school. Most recently Lauren has been playing in Greece for Niki Lefkadas where she has averaged 11.2 points, 5.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Coach Fenton said, “We couldn’t be happier to secure Lauren for the Cyclones this season. She is a dynamic guard who plays both ends of the floor. Lauren is someone who we can throw the ball to late in the clock and she can create her own shot or find something for her teammates. Lauren has played high level Division 1 College for TCU in one of the toughest conferences in America and she also has international experience in Greece. She is the perfect fit for our program, and I can’t wait to see her hit the floor this week against Mackay.”

Lauren said on signing, “Returning to Australia, I am extremely excited to be a part of the 2023 Rockhampton Cyclones. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and challenge myself as a player. I aim to add a hardworking and energetic presence to this team and be what this team needs form me to achieve our common goal.

I’m extremely thankful to the Coaches and the organization for giving me this opportunity to be an addition to this team and be a part of Rockhampton’s beautiful community.”

The Cyclones season opens against the Mackay Meteorettes in Mackay on this Friday, March 24.
