Cyclones Sign Tia Hay for 2023 Season

The CQ University Rockhampton Cyclones have continued to build their roster for the 2023 season with the signing of Townsville Fire player Tia Hay.

Tia played with the Ipswich Force in last year's NBL 1 North season where she averaged 17.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.8 assist per game. Tia has also spent the WNBL season with the Townsville Fire who currently sit in 3rd place on the WNBL ladder.

Coach Drew Fenton said, “Tia was a priority signing for us this year. Tia has played at a high level in the Junior National Championships with Victoria, NCAA with Santa Clara and also with Ipswich last season in NBL1. Tia plays the game the right way and seems to make the right decisions on the floor both offensively and defensively and belongs on a WNBL roster. We can’t wait to have Tia here in Rocky!

Tia is looking forward to arriving in Rockhampton for the season and said, “I’m excited to be part of Rocky’s community and play in front of the fans, I’ve heard it’s a fun atmosphere. Definitely looking forward to getting on court with the team and seeing how far we go in the season.

Tia will arrive in Rockhampton following her WNBL commitments with the Townsville Fire.
