The CQ University Rockhampton Cyclones are proud to announce they have signed Jannon Otto for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North Season. Jannon had a wonderful college career at UC Riverside being named in the All-Big West team twice and averaging 16.7 points and 7 rebounds in her time at UCR. Currently Jannon is playing in Germany for Speyer in the Bundesliga League where she is averaging 25.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. The 6-foot small forward will be a valuable addition to the Cyclones roster this season and will give the team some great scoring punch.
Coach Drew Fenton said, “We are excited to have Jannon join our group. Her ability to score in a variety of ways and rebound the ball is exactly what we were looking for during our recruiting process. Jannon is a do it all type of player, can score, rebound, assist, and shoot at a high percentage from the field and free throw line. Her length will also be of great benefit as she will change many shots on the defensive end. She fits the culture of what we are trying build here in Rockhampton, being a quality person on and off the floor
After watching all her Speyer games and many conversations on the phone, we know exactly what we are getting and can’t wait for her to arrive. The fans at Rockhampton are going to love her!”
Jannon said of signing with the Cyclones, “I’m really excited to come to Rockhampton and play for the Cyclones this year. I know this is a good league and I will be doing whatever I can to help the team get some wins on the board. I have heard great things about the club and Drew has been in touch constantly about the team and the role he is looking for me to play. I can’t wait to get to Rockhampton and get to work and I am looking forward to meeting my teammates.
The NBL1 North season tips off in April.
