The CQ University Cyclones are proud to welcome Annaliese and Mikayla Watkinson back to Rockhampton for a 2nd season.
After joining the Cyclones midyear last year from the Red City Roar, both Annaliese and Mikayla Watkinson have returned to the Cyclones in 2022. Both players will once again add depth the Cyclones roster and bring separate skillsets to the program.
Annaliese will play the guard/small forward role and will bring the ability to consistently knock the perimeter shot down whilst playing with physicality on the defensive end. She has a wonderful shot and is continuing to develop her mid-range game and is rock solid on the defensive end.
Mikayla will bring her hustle defensively and continue to annoy people on that end of the floor, putting pressure on opposition guards. The team will also look to Mikayla to play some back-up point guard at stages throughout the year.
Coach Drew Fenton is happy that both players have decided to return to Rockhampton and is looking forward to working with them in 2022. “Since arriving in Rockhampton, I can see that both Annaliese and Mikayla are keen to work on their games and try to get better each and every day. Both players will add to the depth of our group and I’m sure will have a good NBL1 season.”
